QUESTION:
Hello, my son B*** is 24 years old and has a severe case of glaucoma. He has lost his vision in his right eye. His eye pressure is normally at 18, or drop and not below 10 where we have been told to be. His Doctor recently changed his eye drops and he continues to do his eye massages every hour. I would like to get your option on what is my best option to conserve his current vision, he is young and we are afraid at an early age he will no longer have vision. At the present time we have kaiser for insurance, I would like to get your opinion. Please advise the cost for consultation for us to schedule a visit. Thank you!

ANSWER:
I am sorry to hear about the challenges your son has had to face. I would be happy to provide a consultation though if he has recently had surgery I would only be able to provide an assessment and discuss my findings. It is not a good idea to have multiple surgeons offering treatment advice to someone who has recently had surgery as the healing process is dynamic and the best person to manage those post-operative changes is the operating surgeon.
I have copied my nurse and office administrator on this email. Either can assist you in making an appointment to see me if desired.
