Milo Don Appleman Jr., M.D. Memorial Award
This award is given to the most outstanding graduating senior pursuing a career in the clinical health sciences, as determined by the faculty and lab directors in the department of biological sciences.
J. Wesley Robb Endowed Scholarship in Human Value
Established in 1987, the J. Wesley Robb Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students of the junior class in the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Students are chosen for their demonstration of significant moral leadership in the campus community, evidence of a commitment to human values and a deep concern for others.
Skull and Dagger Senior Honor Society
The Skull and Dagger Society is the all-university honor society at the University of Southern California. The Society is primarily for graduating seniors consisting of leaders, scholars, and student-athletes. Many great USC alumni have been members of the Skull and Dagger Society.
Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society
Mortar Board is the foremost national honor society for university seniors recognized for their superior leadership and dedicated service to the university.
Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) is one of the nation’s oldest and largest honor societies and is USC’s oldest honor society. Membership to this prestigious honor society is by invitation only. In fact, only the top ten percent of seniors and graduate students (as well as the top 7.5 percent of juniors) are invited to become members. Membership is also extended to faculty, staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction. Phi Kappa Phi is an esteemed honor society for the best of the best.

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest scholastic honor society, established in 1776 to honor scholarly excellence in the liberal arts and sciences.
Medical Residency Training
After graduating with top honors from the University of Southern California (USC), Dr. Richardson received the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship to attend Harvard Medical School. Dr. Richardson received the prestigious Howard Hughes National Fellowship while a student at Harvard Medical School. As a fellow, he spent a year at the National Institute of Health researching visual cognition. Dr. Richardson then completed an internal medicine internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, which was followed by ophthalmology training at LAC +USC/Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles – one of the top ophthalmology residencies in the country.
