Senior Class Faculty Teaching Award

Dr. David Richardson was awarded the distinguished Senior Class Faculty Teaching Award by The USC Roski Eye Institute, Keck School of Medicine, Ophthalmology-Residency Class of 2020.

“The Senior Class Faculty Teaching Award for this year definitely goes to someone, whom the new class collectively agreed upon⁠—someone who had spent relatively little time with us but has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on our education, both in the clinic and in the OR. They have provided us with novel ideas that are also so very practical and applicable. They are constantly sharing new ideas with us⁠—we just got email today about one of them actually⁠—and constantly encouraging us to try new things. So, this year’s senior class faculty teaching award goes to Dr. David Richardson. Thank you, Dr. Richardson.”

Second Year Surgical Teaching Award

Definitely one of the most cherished awards Dr. Richardson has received during his career in medicine. This award was bestowed by the appreciative University of Southern California Ophthalmology-Residency Class of 2017. Dr. Richardson is indeed fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with each of these fine young surgeons.

GLA+ (Greet Listen Action Thank) EXCELLENCE in Patient Centered Care

This award was given by the VA Greater Los Angeles Veterans Healthcare System in recognition to Dr. Richardson for his outstanding work in promoting the GLA+experience for the patients and employees of the VA Greater Los Angeles Veterans Healthcare System. Also given as an an appreciation of Dr. Richardson’s attentive care and professional services and efforts to create a positive experience and healing environment

Top Ophthalmologist in San Marino, California

Dr. David Richardson was just recently named as Top Ophthalmologist in San Marino, California by the International Association of Ophthalmologists (IA0). This year, his status will be spotlighted in the renowned publication, The Leading Physicians of the World, recognizing Doctors of Excellence.

Southern California Super Doctors® Honors

This is given to outstanding physicians who have attained a high degree of peer recognition or professional achievement.  Each year Key Professional Media sends out thousands of ballots to doctors asking them to nominate colleagues they know to be exceptional in their specified field. Physicians are asked to consider the following question: “If you needed medical care in one of the following specialties, which doctor would you choose?”

Los Angeles Magazine’s Top Doctor Honors

In 2018, Los Angeles Magazine partnered with Professional Research Services (PRS) in conducting a peer-to-peer survey of all physicians throughout the Los Angeles County, a region loaded with cutting-edge medical institutions and highly skilled doctors.  They were asked to identify the doctors they consider to be at the top of their game. Dr. David Richardson has been awarded as one of the top ophthalmologists in Los Angeles county every year since this survey started in 2018.

Pasadena Magazine’s Top Doctor Honors

This is given to doctors who are deemed tops by their peers. Doctors throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles area voted online for the most esteemed physician in his or her given field. The online votes were tabulated and physician credentials were verified by an outside law firm.

Compassionate Doctor Recognition

This award is based on reviews written by hundreds of thousands of patients. While physicians generally receive positive feedback from their patients, only a select few receive recognition about the compassion that accompanied their exemplary care. In fact, out of a million active physicians in the U.S., only 3% were accorded this honor in 2014.

Patients’ Choice Award

Patients’ Choice recognition reflects the difference a particular physician has made in the lives of their patients. The honor is bestowed to physicians who have received near perfect scores as voted by patients. In fact, of the nation’s 830,000 active physicians, only 5% were accorded this honor by their patients in 2012.
