QUESTION:

Thank you for the recent information about Canaloplasty. I was unable to deduce from what I read whether or not this procedure can significantly reduce IOP. Also as we are Canadians in Vancouver, does Doctor Ahmed in Toronto perform this procedure or do you know anyone else you could recommend here in Canada. Thank you again for your care about this life altering disease.

I am sorry you were unable to find the information you were looking for. I will have to consider how I can make the effectiveness of canaloplasty more easily accessible on the website. Canaloplasty is, indeed, quite effective for most of those who choose it. Three year results are as follows:

As to who in Canada performs canaloplasty, I’m afraid I cannot answer that. Dr. Ahmed used to perform it but I believe he has since moved on to other implants that are not yet available in the USA.
