The Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) is a supranational organization in the Asia-Pacific region committed to driving ophthalmology forward. The 2018 Congress of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in Hong Kong was co-hosted by the Hong Kong Ophthalmological Society and the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong. The APAO Congress was held in conjunction with the 29thHong Kong Ophthalmological Symposium. It brought together around 5,000 ophthalmologists from around the world and featured more than 1,000 internationally recognized speakers who presented their latest work and scientific innovations in the major ophthalmic subspecialties.

ABiC™ experts Dr. David Lubeck and Dr. David Richardson shared with APAO delegates on February 8, 2018 the role of ABiC in the MIGS treatment armamentarium. Designed to re-establish the eye’s natural outflow drainage system, ABiC™ accesses, catheterizes, and viscodilates the trabecular meshwork, Schlemm’s canal, and also the distal outflow system, beginning with the collector channels.
