Dr. David Richardson is committed to educating the public on blindness prevention. As a way of giving back to the community, Dr. Richardson gives complimentary health talks about glaucoma and cataract surgery to various groups and also treats veterans twice weekly at the VA Greater Los Angeles Veterans Healthcare System.
And It is with great pride that we announce that last July 2016, Dr. Richardson was given the award, “GLA+ (Greet Listen Action Thank) EXCELLENCE in Patient Centered Care“ by the VA Greater Los Angeles Veterans Healthcare System.

The event was attended by optometrists and Optometry students from Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) and Western University of Health Sciences.

San Marino Eye at South Pasadena Aging Health Fair
San Marino Eye participated in the annual South Pasadena Aging Healthy Fair last May 21, 2015. The Health Fair was held outside South Pasadena Senior Center and the Library and was attended by ~200+ seniors and family members. Around 50 companies/vendors joined the event. Dr. David Richardson, offered free glaucoma screening and consultation to attendees. He was assisted by his caring staff, Ana.
What’s New In Glaucoma Surgery
A Continuing Education course for Doctors of Optometrists presented by Dr. David Richardson. This OD CE Course [2 credit hours] was held at Green Street Tavern, Pasadena, CA last May 20, 2015. At the end of the presentation, audience participants became familiar with the main benefits and risks of currently available glaucoma treatments as well as had awareness of the most promising potential future surgical glaucoma treatments. This was the presentation of Dr. David Richardson at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center’s Healthtalk last November 2014.
This presentation discussed glaucoma, glaucoma treatments, and then toward the end of clock, Dr. Richardson discussed a surgery, that although relatively new, has been the goal of surgeons for at least 50 years to achieve.

Dinner talk on “Canaloplasty, A Newer, Safer Glaucoma Treatment”. It was well-attended and enjoyed by all. Attendees packed the Mezzanine Room at Cafe Santorini in Pasadena making the large group feel “intimate.” Two of Dr. Richardson’s canaloplasty patients generously volunteered to give personal testimonials of their surgical experience which increased the interest and participation in Dr. Richardson’s subsequent talk.
